I am a Relate-trained sex and relationship therapist having initially qualified as a couple counsellor in 2007 before undertaking postgraduate training in sex and relationship therapy.
As a counsellor I have a broad range of experience working in the charitable and statutory sectors as well as in private practice. I have a particular interest in working with GSRD clients and have previously worked as an outreach and groups worker for an organisation supporting the LGBTQI+ community.
As an academic, I have been involved in counselling training for over a decade and alongside my university role I continue to work as a specialist psychosexual therapist in the NHS. I am accredited as a sex and relationship therapist with COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) and am also a registered member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I hold an MA in Relationship Therapy and a PgDip in Psychosexual Therapy and I am currently undertaking a PhD with the University of Huddersfield exploring the relationship support needs of nonbinary people and the role of relationship therapy in providing support.
