Sheraz Ahmad, MRCPsych, PGDip(Psychosexual Therapy), MEd, is an NHS consultant psychiatrist and psychosexual therapist working at Camden & Islington NHS Trust leading the Sexual Problems Clinic (since 2016) and East London Foundation Trust in community rehabilitation (since 2010).

Sheraz took over the consultant psychiatrist role at the Sexual Problems Clinic in Camden & Islington Trust from Professor Michael King in 2016. He developed the service into a training clinic and the service has had trainees from COSRT approved sex therapy courses since 2017 and he has been part of placement supervisor meetings on the London Diploma course. Sheraz has carried out service evaluations and presented at the European Federation of Sexology Congress in 2018 and 2022 alongside his colleague Dr Catherine Hood. The service has been developing a brief sex therapy approach for the NHS which includes all presentations including working with trauma and compulsive sexual behaviour.

Sheraz has extensive teaching experience including supervision of junior and senior psychiatric trainees and mentoring of psychiatric consultants. He has taught a wide range of health professionals including GPs, nurses and psychotherapists. He has provided placement supervision to over a dozen sex therapy trainees from a range of backgrounds. He has an MEd in Postgraduate Education with distinction from Imperial College and has been training programme director for higher trainees in psychiatry in North East London since 2013.
